Well, I don't know whether to call today a success or a failure....

....so I guess we'll call it a DRAW!

-- I made it to the gym - YAY!
-- I got a LOT of work done on the garage, but it isn't done yet.  DRAW
-- I got the list of Gluten-free easy meals done, so when the gal from church calls and asks what people can bring us when I have surgery, etc. I have a list all ready - YAY!
-- I didn't get any cooking done, and I'm still waiting for teachers to tell me what they want - FAIL

The Doctor I DESPARATELY need to see next was out of town all last week, is only in the office 2 days this week (is in surgery the other days), and they have staff trainings all next week.  The receptionist put me on the call list, but I'm sure there are a million other people on it, too, sooooo....it looks like the 28th is the closest I'm coming to answers.  It seems a million years away. :(

The good news: I have two more days left of my 3 week course of antibiotic, and I have 7 more days of the Prednisone.  I'm on the backside of it now, so hopefully the side effects will start to go away.

The bad news: my head is KILLING me. By this time of night (thank goodness the girls' bedtime is soon!) I am shaky, I alternate being super cold and HOT, I'm nauseous, my chest feels tight (all medication side effects....), and I start to space out a little when I'm talking or doing something.  NOT COOL.  Even through all of these meds, my head STILL hurts.  It's like walking through a muggy fog, except there's a dull ache at my temples and the back of my head all the time. I get some relief after sleep, provided I can get a few hours in at a time.

OY, I'm such a mess. Sorry to just unload -- but this time of day is the hardest, and I don't feel like reading or watching TV right now. Doug is at work for the night, and I'm having a moment of feeling sorry for myself. Phooey.

So, like I said, I think we'll call today a draw and hope that tomorrow is better. As soon as I can get the girls settled in bed, I hope to get some sleep.  Last night I think I got about 4 hours....not enough.

5 things I'm thankful for today:
-- I can see the floor in my garage, most of it anyway.
-- I made it through 30 min on the elliptical and did a little bit of ab work
-- I went to lunch with my husband at one of our favorite places -- and I totally pigged out on their hand-cut fries and fry sauce.  Comfort food.....
-- I'm thankful that I have friends who will let me wallow a little, but expect me to hang on and fight, no matter what is wrong with me.
-- I'm thankful that bedtime is only an hour and a half away!
